The Name

The property is named Malayka—meaning “angels” in both Swahili and Arabic—a name originally given to its sailboat predecessor, so called for being guided by the wind and protected by Poseidon on its voyage from Italy. When the oceanic spirit of Malayka came to rest on land, the name was passed on to this sacred ground in Terra Santa—“the Holy Land”—in Bali, the Island of the Gods, where heaven gently meets the earth.
